I have decided, at the age of 35, that's it's time to take charge of my health and well-being by making drastic and bold changes in my life, NOW.

To start, I am engaging in a 90-day exercise and nutrition program to transform my physique and eating habits and create myself into a lean, strong, and radiant being with abundant energy.

This blog is a journal of sorts documenting my results and feelings during my quest.

Day 1 - March 9, 2009

Here are my physical stats starting on day 1. At the end of each 30-day period I will re-enter my stats:

Weight: 178lbs
Chest: 42"
Waist: 33"
Right thigh: 20"
Left thigh: 20.5"
Right arm: 13"
Left arm: 13"

Here are my before photos:
I know, not much to look at now.  I lost my camera cable and so I wasn't able to post these photos on my first day of the program, however, I did take the photos on the first day.  I am now on my 9th day and already I feel stronger.

So, here's a brief summary of week one on the P90X program:

That really sums it up for the first week.  The first day went right into chest and back and from there it was burning through one muscle after the next.  Now, after week one, I feel strength in muscles that before didn't seem to exist.

As far as my blood sugar (I was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes three years ago), I have seen considerable changes.  When I started week one I was taking about 20-30 units of insulin each day.  Now, I am taking less than 12 units each day.  My goal is to be completely off of insulin by the end of the 90 day program.
